Notable Changes from the Previous Year


The 2023 Sierra 1500 comes with quite a few notable changes. Firstly, there’s a new model: the AT4X. This model is the first AEV Edition, where AEV stands for American Expedition Vehicles. The front fascia has been redesigned, as well as the grille.

Infotainment and Technology Features


All trims have an exterior temperature display equipped on the radio. The GMC Connected Access and keyless remote start feature are optional for the entry-level trim but standard for the rest. Power door locks and windows are standard across the lineup.

The essential tech features are a 13.4-inch touchscreen display (upgradable), a 12.3-inch Driver Information Centre, in-vehicle Trailering App, and a 15-inch head-up display. Other notable tech features include HD rearview camera, USB ports, and Bluetooth for phone.

Exterior Design


New standard features in the exterior part include LED headlamps, DRL and taillamps, and a Six-Function MultiPro Tailgate. There are 20-inch wheels available and a monochromatic exterior. The new models come with a black-gloss grille; the Denali has a signature Denali Vader chrome grille.

Interior Comfort and Cargo Space


There’s an Obsidian Rush interior and a 12-speaker Bose Premium Series in the AT4X. Trims from the AT4 above will enjoy a luxurious Jet Black interior with Kalahari accents. The Pro has Jet Black cloth or vinyl upholsteries as an option. There are authentic open-pore wood and Forge perforated-leather upholstery for the flagship model. All rear seats are foldable.

Performance Features


This lineup has four engines available; their capabilities are described in the table above. The trailering capacity depends on the engine you choose. You can tow up to 9,500 lb with the primary option, 11,200 lb with the 5.3L V8, and 13,000 lb with the others.

Safety and Driver Assistance Features


There’s a vast set of standard safety features in this outline. Those features include six airbags, automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, rearview cameras, tire pressure monitoring, and more.
